What’s your “WHAT-IF PLAN”?

I would like to ask you What’s your “WHAT-IF PLAN? At this time of year I strongly urge everyone to get ready and be prepared for this summer’s forces of nature during storm season.

In a bid towards helping the residents of Toowoomba North to be prepared for storm season I have available free of charge limited stocks of the RACQ Get Ready Queensland waterproof phone cover, as well as What’s your (What-if plan?); household emergency plan and evacuation kit brochures.

These resources will be invaluable in making sure that you and your family are well prepared and stay safe in times of crisis.

To secure these free emergency resources all you need to do is email Toowoomba.north@parliament.qld.gov.au or pop into the Toowoomba North Electorate office which is located at Suite 2, ABC Building, 297 Margaret Street, Toowoomba. Remember limited stocks are available, so don’t delay call in today.

“Without a doubt on any given day, we could be faced with the threat of a storm or bushfire, but it’s ultimately up to us how we weather the storm and prepare ourselves,” Mr Watts said.

“It’s up to everyone to ensure nobody is caught off guard by preparing our homes and families so emergency crews can be directed where they will do the most good.”

Far too often people who have left it too late to get ready rely on the SES for help. By preparing ourselves better before disaster hits, we can help take the strain off the SES.

The RACQ Get Ready Queensland program can be viewed at https://getready.qld.gov.au/ to see what steps you need to take to be prepared.

This program will help you get ready to handle whatever nature throws at you. Your preparedness will make you more resilient, mitigate the risks and damage to your property, as well as assisting you to bounce back from any natural disaster.

“While we cannot control the weather, residents can control their preparedness now, which will save a lot of the heartache that comes as a result of storm damage.

“Remember it not a good time to prepare for a storm when you are in the middle of one.”
