On the third day of Christmas, Trevor Watts MP delivers A Touch of Kindness to Toowoomba community

On the third day of the 12 Days of Christmas Community Giving Campaign, LNP Member for Toowoomba North Trevor Watts joined forces with A Touch of Kindness to help deliver Christmas hampers to individuals families who are struggling to make ends meet.

Mr Watts said A Touch of Kindness embodied Toowoomba’s generous community spirit, supporting those who need it and spreading a bit of Christmas cheer.

“Christmas can be a difficult time for some people,” Mr Watts said.

“The work A Touch of Kindness has done, will make a real difference to many families across Toowoomba this Christmas.”

A Touch of Kindness founder and organiser Emily O’Sullivan said hundreds of boxes had been filled and distributed to families in need this year.

“The A Touch of Kindness boxes have been filled with donated items including food, toys, clothing, hygiene items, Christmas decorations and gift cards and gifted to local families and nursing homes,” Emily said.

“A Touch of Kindness is local not for profit community group whose aim is to help those in need.

“We put the call out to the Toowoomba community to support local families these holidays and we were overwhelmed with the response.

“These boxes will help make Christmas a happier and more comfortable time for many families.”

Mr Watts commended A Touch of Kindness and all the community and not-for-profit organisations across Toowoomba North for their ongoing work.

“It’s heart warming to see so many volunteers and organisations coming together to offer support to those doing it tough this Christmas,” he said.
