Statement from LNP Shadow Health Minister Ros Bates

Wednesday, 22nd July 2020

“People not complying with quarantine orders must face mandatory maximum penalties of $13,345,” Ms Bates said.

“A strong message needs to be sent that fake addresses and avoiding authorities is not on.

“We need to ensure strict enforcement of hotel quarantine and there must be mandatory COVID testing before anyone can leave quarantine of any type.

“We can’t risk a second wave which would be devastating to the Queensland economy and cost thousands of jobs. “We have seen what a lax quarantine arrangement has done in Victoria and the damage it is doing to the economy and jobs, and don’t want to see the same here in Queensland.”
