WATTS SET TO PROVIDE CULTURAL AND RECREATIONAL UPGRADES TO THE DISTRICT

I am pleased to announce that a future LNP Government would invest in a range of local cultural and recreational facilities across the district.

Wilsonton Heights District Park and O’Quinn Street Athletics are set to receive improved equipment and facilities:

$7,000 to replace sand with dirt at the indigenous dance circle at the Wilsonton Heights District Park to improve the facilities needed for dance ceremonies; and

$10,000 for two new shot put & 2 discus concrete throwing circles at O’Quinn Street Athletics

As the local member for our area since 2012 I have been listening to the concerns of local communities throughout the region.

Local Throws Coach, Grahame Pitt welcomed the installation of new Shot and Discus facilities at O’Quinn Street Athletics.

“This funding will assist in the development of our local athletes. Our local area has a proud history in throws, but our present facilities are now holding us back. Trevor has ensured that the O’Quinn facility is equipped to support the growth and development of throwers in our local sporting community” said Mr Pitt.

I believe local community and recreation facilities are key elements in bringing the community together as well as providing health benefits through increased participation in sports.

As your local member of the LNP Team I am working hard to ensure our local community is listened to and ensure the LNP will build the sport and recreation infrastructure our local community needs make a better Toowoomba North electorate.
