Become a Volunteer – Give Happy, Live Happy and make Toowoomba the happiest place in Australia

BECOME A VOLUNTEER – GIVE HAPPY, LIVE HAPPY AND MAKE TOOWOOMBA THE HAPPIEST PLACE IN AUSTRALIA

Every year across Queensland up to 1.2million volunteers make a difference and enrich the lives of thousands of people they meet and help.

National Volunteer Week “Give Happy, Live Happy” is being held 8-14 May 2017 and is the largest celebration of volunteers and volunteerism in Australia.  It provides an opportunity to highlight the role of volunteers in society and say thank you to more than 6.1 million Australian volunteers.

It is a fact that just a few hours of volunteer work makes a difference to everyone’s happiness and mood, so with 23,248 plus volunteers residing in Toowoomba this should make this city the happiest place in Australia to live.

Volunteers add billions to the economy each year and they contribute to the strength and resilience of communities, but even more importantly, they make Queensland a better place to live.

The Toowoomba North Electorate is fortunate to have such a large contingent of volunteers working quietly behind the scenes, thus ensuring that Toowoomba is a better and healthier society.

I would like to thank the state’s army of volunteers for their outstanding efforts and continued service to our community.
