Member for Toowoomba North Trevor Watts was very pleased to present members of the YWCA Y Ability program with a $250 cash grant today, to support their new band ‘Loud Play’.
Mr Watts said the grant, which was provided under the Toowoomba North Local Hero Grants Program, would enable the band to buy new band shirts.
“Every musician should have the opportunity to feel like a rock star, especially during band practice,” Mr Watts said.
“For David, Sammi and the rest of the ‘Loud Play’ members, being part of a band not only improves their confidence and happiness, it also encourages inclusivity and unity.
“That’s why I’m thrilled to be able to support the Y Ability Program and the outcomes they are delivering through their music therapy program.”
