Gutless Grace should be sacked

Annastacia Palaszczuk must stop shielding her failing Education Minister and force her to apologise for Queensland’s e-learning meltdown, the LNP said today.

Shadow Education Minister Jarrod Bleijie said Education Minister Grace Grace’s decision to dodge the cameras yesterday after her weak boss promised she would was pure cowardice and a dereliction of her duty as a minister.

“When students mess up we tell them to own up and say sorry,” Mr Bleijie said.

“Grace Grace is setting an atrocious example to Queensland kids by running away and refusing to apologise.

“Annastacia Palaszczuk needs to stop being weak, take responsibility and sack her incompetent Minister.

“The Premier told Queenslanders that her Education Minister would front the cameras and explain yesterday’s e-learning fiasco to parents.

“Grace Grace instead spent the entire day hiding from the media.

“Grace Grace has shattered what little credibility she had and made her boss a liar.

“This scandal is reminiscent of Anna Bligh’s failure to sack Paul Lucas despite the Queensland Health payroll debacle.

“Queensland students and parents deserve better.”

Mr Bleijie said IT problems were another reason why Queensland parents should be allowed to send their kids to school if they choose.

“Parents don’t understand why schools were open when the infection rate was much higher than it is now,” Mr Bleijie said.

“Parents know what’s best for their kids. If parents think their kids should be at school, that’s where they should be.”
