LOCAL JP’S CLOCK UP 76 YEARS OF SERVICE
  • 25 years certificate awarded to Perry Dayas and Paddy Boxall for their  services as a Justice of the Peace for the State of Queensland

Perry Dayas and Paddy Boxall were recently recognised for their 25+ years of service as a Justice of the Peace for Queensland

I recently presented a 25 year certificate to both Perry and Paddy in recognition of their service as a Justice of the Peace for Queensland.

Interestingly both men were appointed in 1979 and have spent a combined 76 years assisting the local community.

Perry has enjoyed his time as a Justice of the Peace for Queensland signing thousands of documents, including one particularly memorable request involving an overseas custody case which required the witnessing of 76 pages of documents.  As a business owner for 40 years, Perry always encouraged his staff to undertake the role as a Justice of the Peace for Queensland.

Patty also found his role as a Justice of the Peace for Queensland most rewarding and particularly helpful in his 13 years of employment at the Toowoomba Regional Council.  One of Paddy’s most memorable requests was assisting a Swiss couple over many years with the witnessing of a declaration requiring the authorization of two Justices of the Peace, as well as the Council’s common seal.

The importance of these volunteers working within Queensland’s legal system cannot be underestimated and I would like to once again pay tribute to both Perry and Paddy for their truly outstanding efforts in this role on behalf of the thousands of people that they have assisted through their many years of service.
