LOOKING AFTER THE HEALTH NEEDS OF THE HIGHFIELDS COMMUNITY
  • LNP’s expansion of the Highfields Ambulance Station from a call out service to a 24hr station
  • Highfields community in safe hands
  • Servicing our health needs, both now and into the future

The LNP’s expansion of the Highfields Ambulance Station from a call out service to a 24hr station has enabled this station to service the health needs of the Highfields community.

It is satisfying to meet with and to hear first-hand from our hard-working and dedicated front line staff about the challenges they face and their commitment to the health care needs of our local community.

I recently toured the Highfields Ambulance Station facility with my colleague John-Paul Langbroek, Shadow Minister for Health and Ambulance Services to talk about the facilities and increased workloads which are putting pressure on our emergency services as our local communities continue to grow.

Ambulance call-outs in Queensland have increased from 750,442 in 2009-10 to more than one million in 2015-16, which is an increase of 33% in just six years.

It is great to know that the Highfields community is in safe hands following the LNP’s delivery of this vital service.
