On the ninth day of Christmas, Trevor Watts MP helps local job seekers through Wear to Work Program

On the ninth day of the 12 Days of Christmas Community Giving Campaign, LNP Member for Toowoomba North Trevor Watts visited the Cedar Centre with clothing donations for their Wear to Work Program to help young job seekers transition into employment.

Mr Watts said the Cedar Centre provides education, training and skilling opportunities for young job seekers, as well as a safe space of participants and the community to interact in a productive and meaningful way.

“The Wear to Work Program is one of the many ways the Cedar Centre promotes development and helps turns trainees into employees,” Mr Watts said.

“Clothing donated through their Wear to Work Program helps job seekers prepare for interviews and for a professional work environment.

“The program is designed to help people who are disadvantaged or in need, by building their confidence, developing interview techniques, styling tips and providing other support so they can transition to employment.

“Job interviews can be such a daunting experience. However, when you look good, you feel good.

“Dressing the part helps give these young job seekers the confidence they need to succeed.”
