On the tenth day of Christmas, Trevor Watts MP joins forces with Meals on Wheels Toowoomba

On the tenth day of the 12 Days of Christmas Community Giving Campaign, LNP Member for Toowoomba North Trevor Watts joined forces with St Stephen’s Meals on Wheels to help deliver approximately 250 meals to clients across Toowoomba.

Mr Watts said St Stephen’s Meals on Wheels services over 600 clients, with 350 volunteers who prepare and deliver an average of 250 meals per day.

“Meals on Wheels is much more than a meal delivery service,” Mr Watts said.

“While the team at St Stephen’s Meals on Wheels deliver healthy meals to clients’ homes to ensure their nutritional requirements are being met, they also provide regular social contact and friendly welfare checks.

“Every day a friendly smile, a chat about the weather, a nutritious meal and knowing someone will drop by to say hello, changes the lives of many people living in our community.

“The work St Stephen’s Meals on Wheels does, ensures every client maintains their independence without being able to go to the supermarket or cook regular meals.

“We want everyone to live in their own homes for as long as possible – the team at St Stephen’s Meals on Wheels is making this a reality for so many people.”

Mr Watts commended Meals on Wheels and all of the community and not-for-profit organisations across Toowoomba North for supporting individuals and families in need throughout Toowoomba.
