WILSONTON HIGH STUDENTS’ STILL WAITING

Despite my pleas to the former Education Minister to have the new $5 million Wilsonton State High School arts and sports hall ready in time for the 2018 school year. The kids at Wilsonton High are still waiting to access this much anticipated facility.

Local Member for Toowoomba North, Trevor Watts stated “back in late 2016 I challenged the former Education Minister in Parliament to deliver this much awaited facility to the Wilsonton community in time for the start of the 2018 school year.

“I am disappointed that Wilsonton High School students were unable to access this facility on the first day back at school. This facility will without a doubt be a great asset to the school community when Labor finally gets it open.

“The strong representation by the Wilsonton community has delivered this facility to the students and the Wilsonton State High School.

Everyone who signed the petitions, sent letters and contacted my office should be proud of their efforts which secured this hall for Wilsonton High School.”

Mr Watts said that “this hall will give the students a state of the art facility that they have deserved for so long. This hall will protect them from the elements and provide much needed classroom and teaching space facilities and become an integral part of the campus.

This is a great outcome for the Wilsonton community and I hope that the students will soon be utilising this space.
